Connecticut has amended the Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act (CFEPA) and beginning October 1, 2022, all employers regardless of number of employees will now be covered by the act. The amendment also makes victims of domestic violence a protected class and requires employers to provide a reasonable amount of leave for victims of domestic violence.
While not part of this amendment, Connecticut employers should be aware that CFEPA is broader than its federal counterpart and requires employers to provide pregnancy-related accommodations.
Connecticut employers should replace their current posters with updated “Discrimination is Illegal” and “Pregnancy Discrimination” posters.
