New York Minimum Wage Increases

New York City and  Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties:

Effective January 1, 2025, the minimum wage will increase to $16.50 for workers. The new minimum wage for workers performing specific services are:

  • $19.10 per hour for Home Care Aides
  • $13.75 per hour for Tipped Hospitality workers
  • $11.00 per hour for Food Service workers

The minimum salary to qualify as Exempt under the FLSA for Executive and Administrative employees will increase to $1,237.50 weekly/$64,350 annually.

Remainder of New York State:

The minimum wage for workers in the rest of New York State will increase as well.  The minimum hourly wage is $15.50 per hour.  The new minimum wage for workers performing specific services in the rest of New York State are:

  • $18.10 per hour for Home Care Aides
  • $12.90 per hour for Tipped Hospitality workers
  • $10.35 per hour for Food Service workers

The minimum salary to qualify as Exempt under the FLSA for Executive and Administrative employees will increase to $1,161.65 weekly/$60,504.80 annually.
